Field of Civil Education and Peace- Building :
Ster NGO applied a project on (Building a spirit of tolerance and acceptance of others)
in year 2006 which has been funded and encouraged by Iraqi Civil Society Program (ICSP). This project was aiming on (6) residential complexes with different social components. The participants attended the course in each complex (4) days, four hours per a day. During this project (96) people have been trained on peace building in the society.
Ster NGO formed a committee of peace and solidarity, which consisted of (7) members . This committee was able to apply many activities for instance the committee managed an open and friendly debate among political parties in Duhok, it was held in Dilshad Palace after some violent actions that happened to some hotels , massage centers and to the buildings of some political parties in Duhok and Zakho.
Ster NGO distributed (100) pledges on heads of tribes , clans and some social figures in order to abide the law , then a conference was organized for participants in Duhok for identifying the objects which were serving the role of the law .
Field of Emergency Aids :
Ster NGO distributed clothes on Syrian displaced children twice in Dumis camp,
which is located near Duhok.
Ster NGO served (700) meals of food to displaced people of Sinjar in Junior High
Trade and in Hall of sport activities in Duhok.
Ster NGO formed a supervising staff for (15) locations of emigrants of Sinjar in order to
organize their affairs.
Field of Human Rights :
Application of assessment project of violations of rights of displaced children in the duhok governorate ( it supported by Unicef organization) , The project contains of 20 researchers and it took 30 days , And has been visit 3600 families in deferent area of the duhok governorate .
Ster NGO participated in a course which has been held by United Nations Program
for women development in Oman 2006 which was about anti – violence against
women. This course lasted for 10 days.
Ster NGO implemented project for two months in five cities of Duhok's governorate,
two sessions for each city. The project aimed to collect the observations and
suggestions on constitution items which were related to handicaps rights.
Ster NGO has represented a national project on ( Enhancing Social Guarantees) in Duhok
the project was supported by a coalition of national initiative to preserve the
constitution in 2011.
